I became an artist at a young age. I loved to paint with smelly paints from little tubes. I was fascinated by blending oil pastels with my finger. My career as a professional artist began at age 11. I sold a picture of toys on a shelf, and I was hooked!
Then came life! College, marriage, raising children, and a career! I eventually found time to get back to pursuing my interest in art. I took classes, entered shows and joined a gallery.
Today I’m a working artist. Acrylics are my paint of choice, but my art doesn’t stop there. I use collage papers, fabrics, fibers and whatever else intrigues me.
I’m inspired by many things, but mostly by the Orient. I love the culture, the symbols, the calligraphy, the colors, and the spiritualism. Their exquisite papers and textiles speak loudly to me.
My goal is to have my art entice you! How? By the interplay of color and texture… by weaving together opaque and transparent passages… by the boldness and expressiveness of my artistic style!
For me, exploring and experimenting is essential to being an artist. There’s always a new way to see things, a new technique to learn, or a new medium to try.
Making art is a process of discovery! Stay tuned!!!
